There has been an article floating around Facebook and online that talks about Before and After photos and specifically mentions P90X and Insanity. The article is written by a “Certified Personal Trainer” and he does some examples of how shadows can help take better pictures and make people look more “Fit” than what they truly are. He basically took a before photo and an after photo of himself supposedly an hour later. While there are some truths to the article with some people that can create a better photo using shadows etc. Using programs like P90X and Insanity when you are a personal trainer and these programs have had a huge impact on other peoples lives is not only wrong but defeats the whole purpose why he would want to be a personal trainer in the first place. Lets face the facts that most personal trainers don’t get rich with there degree with a few exceptions. The majority of people become a personal trainer to help others. It is a very rewarding job because you get to be a part of seeing the transformation of someones physical body and also there mental focus as well. Now I am in no way bashing this guy for writing the article because he does make a few valid points however why would you specifically point out 2 Beachbody programs (P90X and Insanity) when these programs have clearly helped thousands of people not only lose weight but gain confidence, more energy, and their lives have changed dramatically. Doesn’t seem right in my opinion because with Obesity at an all time high we all need to come together and work to help End the Trend of Obesity. It is not the “Home Workout” guys vs. “Gym Workout” guys. We are all in this for the same reason and that is to help other people achieve their fitness goals through fitness and nutrition. Beachbody even talks about in their products when you get them to take normal pictures of yourself. Don’t suck it in and flex to make a better picture. They want real results from real people like you and me that have families, kids, houses, dogs, etc. that have taken a stand to become healthier and then share those results with other people.
Let’s face the facts that there are a lot of programs out there that create an Illusion that you can get ripped in a certain amount of time. Here is what I hope you take from this. These photos are generated to give people HOPE. Hope is what gets people off of the couch, hope is what helps people to stop eating crappy foods. If a before and after photo can get just one person to do this than it has done its job. At the end of the program sure they may not look like the last guy that has a chiseled six pack and huge biceps but I bet when they look in the mirror they will see a stronger person, a more confident person, and someone that has succeeded! That is what this is all about is helping just one person change their life for the better! I can tell you one thing that doesn’t lie and that is videos! Keep pushing play my friends!
